Job summary

Escape Velocity is seeking an experienced 3Cs Designer to evaluate our game through play and suggest improvements. You will design and own features aligned with the creative direction, lead development efforts, and polish 3Cs mechanics from conception to finalization.

You will collaborate with programming, art, and level design, maintain design docs, and push for tool/pipeline improvements while adapting to technical constraints. Fully remote, global team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with character, controls and camera in multiplayer or live-service games.
• Shipped one or more console/PC title.
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or similar.
• Solid understanding of game systems and gameplay flow.

Responsibilities

• Design and own features and mechanics aligned with creative/game directions.
• Lead development efforts and implementation.
• Create and iterate 3Cs player mechanics from concept to polish.
• Standardize and communicate 3Cs features to the team.
• Update and maintain design documentation guiding interdependent teams.
• Collaborate with Programming, Art, and Level Design for alignment.
• Contribute to combat prototypes from a 3Cs perspective.
• Adapt designs to technical/production constraints.
• Propose tools/pipeline improvements.
• Foster an open, creative, safe working environment.
