Job summary

Escape Velocity is seeking a UI Engineer to work with Design, Animation, and Audio to develop, write, implement, and debug UI code for an unannounced project.

You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver polished UI, leverage Unity and UE5, and ship AAA titles; strong C++ skills, math, and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• Professional experience developing games and shipping AAA titles.
• Experience using Unity and Unreal Engine 5.
• Strong C++ skills for gameplay mechanics and tools.
• Excellent math and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with art, design, and sound to implement the UI.
• Write code that fulfills the functional and technical requirements of the project.
• Participate in the design of products and perform testing activities.
• Adhere to the project’s coding standards.
• Research coding techniques and algorithms to stay current on technological developments in the game industry.
• Identify technical risks and develop solutions to overcome obstacles.
