Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire is seeking an experienced 150t Mobile Crane Operator to operate a 150t crane safely on complex UK lifting projects. You will perform pre-use checks, set up outriggers and follow lift plans with the crane team, ensuring safety at every stage.

The role requires a CPCS Blue Card with Mobile Crane Operator authorisation, a full UK driving licence, and proven experience with large mobile cranes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating large mobile cranes.
• Experience with 150t cranes or similar.
• Understanding duty charts and lifting requirements.
• Knowledge of wind effects on crane operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 150t mobile crane safely and efficiently as per instructions and procedures.
• Carry out thorough pre-use and operational checks.
• Set up crane correctly, including outriggers and supporting equipment.
• Check rated capacity systems and ensure proper lift configuration.
• Work from duty charts, lift plans, reports and technical docs.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers and Crane Supervisors.
• Monitor wind and environmental conditions and adjust as needed.
• Maintain awareness of crane, load, environment and people around.
• Stop operations if safety cannot be assured.
• Follow site rules, road regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Handle equipment safely and complete documentation accurately.
• Represent Ainscough professionally on customer sites.
• Collaborate with lifting team to deliver safe projects.
• Continuously look for ways to improve standards and safety.
