Job summary

Imperial College London invites applications for a Support Technician to maintain the Agilent Measurement Suite (AMS) and assist researchers and students. You will train users, coordinate instrument maintenance with Agilent engineers and support the AMS booking system (iLab).

The role requires hands-on experience with LC-HRMS, LC/MS, GC-MS and analytical instrumentation, with a strong emphasis on health and safety and SOP development. This is a full-time laboratory position on site.

Qualifications

• A-Levels in Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (or equivalent).
• Experience with LC-HRMS and analytical instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of MS, LC, GC and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and user training for the Agilent Measurement Suite (AMS).
• Coordinate with Agilent engineers for maintenance and facility readiness.
• Calibrate instruments and support experiments and instrument walk-ups.
• Operate and troubleshoot the AMS booking system (iLab).
• Train researchers in LC/HPLC, LC/MS, Walk-Up LC/MS and GC-MS.
• Maintain safety, risk assessments and SOPs for instruments.
• Vet project proposals and communicate updates to users.
