Job Description

As a BIW Layout Engineer, you will join a growing division of Segula, offering significant opportunities for personal growth within a consultancy working with multiple customers and sectors. Your responsibilities will include the introduction of new facilities, materials, product lines, and vehicle refresh programs.

• Assess feasibility of new BIW facilities and processes, and manage projects related to cost, quality, and timing.
• Support the area by providing necessary capability and capacity at facilities and supporting equipment, aligned with program milestones and production requirements.
• Develop engineering solutions suited to facility capabilities and process characteristics.
• Create robust, lean layout solutions to support facility project delivery and operational efficiencies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for acceptance, buy-off, and handover of new or modified facilities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and other Engineering disciplines to meet program and project targets.
• Manage facility documentation in line with Manufacturing Engineering procedures, supporting audits.
• Lead and participate in multifunctional procurement teams throughout project phases, ensuring procurement procedures are followed.
• Track project KPIs and prepare weekly reports for management.

Qualifications

• Experience in 2D Layout design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar tools
• Strong engineering and automotive background with BIW Layout experience
• Knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and environmental impacts of engineering solutions
• Ability to manage suppliers (materials and equipment)
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and techniques
• Experience in supplier selection and tender management
• Knowledge of electrical control systems used with automated and conveyor equipment
