About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our award-winning team at Marula Lodge. Marula Lodge provides high-quality services to up to 42 residents across 4 specialised units supporting residents with complex care needs, while ensuring a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.

What do you need?

• Previous experience in a similar role
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the skill to build positive relationships with colleagues, residents, and visitors
• A positive attitude towards residents
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in laundry within a care home (desirable)

What hours will you work?

We offer a 7 out of 14 day working pattern, providing more time for you:

• Week A – 3 days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (08:00 to 16:00)
• Week B – 4 days: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (08:00 to 16:00)

Total average of 28 hours per week.

What will you be doing?

• Laundering and ironing a range of materials, including residents' personal clothing, bedding, and kitchen linen
• Ensuring all bed, table, and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
• Keeping the laundry area clean and maintaining separate areas for freshly laundered and soiled articles
• Segregating and distributing residents’ clothing and linen as requested
• Complying with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health, and Fire Procedures
• Following the Company’s health and safety policies, especially in handling soiled materials

About Us

Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviours linked to complex neurodegenerative and mental health conditions.

Our residents primarily have neurological degenerative conditions such as Dementia, often with underlying mental health issues, making them unsuitable for standard dementia or elderly residential care homes.

We operate three services in Waterlooville, Curdridge, and Mytchett, with two new services opening in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
