Job summary

Aurem Care invites applications for a part-time Laundry Assistant to support our care home. You’ll help keep clothing, bedding and linens clean, fresh and well-presented, contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for residents.

With 24 hours per week and a pay rate of £12.71 per hour, you’ll join a friendly team and receive benefits such as life insurance, pension and free DBS, plus training opportunities through our elearning platform.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in a laundry or care home setting.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Guidelines for Laundry and Infection Control.
• Wear gloves and aprons when loading dirty/soiled linen.
• Ensure pockets are checked to avoid lost items.
• Handle infected/soiled linen and launder it in Red Alginate bags.
• Adhere to Infection Control & Prevention policy and company guidelines.
• Report any breakages or required actions to the Home Manager.

What does the job role involve?

Laundry Assistant’s play an important part in our care homes, ensuring it is a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join our team and support the day-to-day running of laundry services within our care home. Your role will be essential in maintaining high standards of hygiene and comfort for our residents by ensuring their clothing, bedding, and linens are clean, fresh, and well-presented.

The role includes but is not limited to:

• Ensure compliance with Guidelines for Laundry and Infection
• When working in the laundry Infection Control measures must be complied with at all times, gloves and aprons must be worn for loading dirty/soiled linen into
• Ensure cuts are covered with suitable plaster/dressing.
• Infected/soiled linen to be collected and laundered in Red Alginate bags.
• Ensure pockets have been checked to avoid unwanted items going through the laundry
• Ensure familiarisation with Company’s Policies and
• Ensure that Infection Control & Prevention policy, regulations and guidelines are adhered to.
• All breakages and breakdowns to be reported to the Home Manager or Person-in-Charge immediately to ensure any necessary action can be
• Any clothing repairs to be undertaken or reported to Keyworker or
• Check clothing is marked with Residents name to avoid loss or wrongly
• Any other ad hoc duties within the role
