Job summary

Aurem Care is looking for a dedicated Domestic Assistant to keep our care home clean, hygienic and welcoming for residents, visitors and staff. You will help ensure a comfortable, safe and homely environment every day.

With experience in housekeeping, you will follow infection control procedures, COSHH rules and use PPE correctly, while supporting the team and respecting residents’ dignity and privacy. 35 hours per week, 8:00am–3:00pm, with weekend rota and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper.

About the Role

Our Domestic Assistants are essential members of the care home team. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the home, helping to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures.
• Adhere to COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times.
• Respect the privacy, dignity, and individual needs of residents.
• Re-stock cleaning trolleys and maintain clean, organised storage areas.
• Support the wider housekeeping team with additional duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Be reliable, hardworking, and take pride in your work.
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have good communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to prioritise tasks effectively and work efficiently.
• Demonstrate a caring and respectful approach towards older people.

What We Offer

Working Hours

• 35 hours per week
• Shifts: 8:00am - 3:00pm
• Includes weekend working on a rota basis
