Job summary

HR GO Recruitment is seeking a Laser Punch Operator for a busy sheet metal fabrication company in the United Kingdom. You will operate Amada Laser Punch equipment, interpret drawings and nesting plans, and ensure high-quality parts are produced to specifications.

The role offers day, late or night shifts with start/end times adjusted to suit, a permanent position, and requires adherence to health and safety procedures. UK right to work is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating Amada Laser Punch machines.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and CNC programmes.
• Competent in basic machine setup, tool changes and minor troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Physically able to handle materials and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate Amada Laser Punch equipment for sheet metal production runs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, nesting plans and work orders accurately.
• Load tooling, fixtures and materials; adjust machine parameters for material type and thickness.
• Monitor production for quality; perform in-process inspections and final checks.
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of machines.
• Report faults and work with maintenance to resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records, timesheets and material usage logs.
• Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a permanent role with a starting salary dependant on experience and shift.
