Job summary

Hrgo-Recruitment is seeking a Laser Punch Operator in Maidenhead to operate an Amada Laser Punch, reading engineering drawings and CNC programmes to produce parts to drawing specifications.

The role offers day, late or night shifts with flexible start/finish times. You will set up tooling, load materials, monitor quality, perform in-process checks and maintain accurate production records while following health and safety procedures. This is a permanent position.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Amada Laser Punch machines.
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and CNC programmes.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality parts.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Physically able to stand and handle materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate Amada Laser Punch equipment for production runs.
• Interpret drawings, nesting plans and work orders accurately.
• Load tooling, fixtures and materials; adjust machine parameters.
• Monitor production quality; perform inspections.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of machines.
• Report faults and assist maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Maintain production records and material usage logs.
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to improvements.

Salary: GBP18 - GBP20 per hour

Laser Punch Operator

New opportunity at this busy sheet metal fabrication company for someone to operate this Amada Laser Punch combination machine. You will produce high-quality components to drawing specifications, and contribute to a safe, efficient workshop environment.

This role can be offered on a day, late or night shift and the company has flexibility to adjust start and finish times to suit.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate Amada Laser Punch equipment for production runs
• Interpret engineering drawings, nesting plans and work orders accurately
• Load tooling, fixtures and materials; adjust machine parameters for material type and thickness
• Monitor production for quality; perform in-process inspections and final checks
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of machines
• Report faults and work with maintenance to resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate production records, timesheets and material usage logs
• Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience operating Amada Laser Punch machines
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and CNC programmes
• Competent in basic machine setup, tool changes and minor troubleshootingAttention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Physically able to handle materials and stand for extended periods

This is a permanent role with a starting salary dependant on experience and shift. You must have current UK right to work to be considered.
