Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions in Nottingham is seeking two experienced Laser Cutting Operators for a permanent, 40-hour week role. You will set up and run laser cutting machinery, ensure parts meet specifications, and maintain quality throughout production.

Ideal candidates will read engineering drawings, use precision measuring tools, and contribute to process improvements while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring equipment for quality drawings.
• Experience using measuring equipment for quality inspection.
• Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality work.
• CNC laser cutting knowledge; sheet metal manufacturing; FLT or overhead crane exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor laser cutting machines to meet production schedules.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Carry out machine adjustments and tooling changes where required.
• Inspect finished components using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Complete production paperwork accurately and maintain records.
• Monitor machine performance and report faults or production issues.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
• Contribute ideas to improve productivity and quality in processes.

Laser Cutting Operator

Location : Nottingham

Job type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay: £15 - £17 per hour (including shift allowance)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for 2 experienced Laser Cutting Operators to join our clients well established business in Nottingham. This role is ideal for someone with abackground in precision manufacturing who enjoys working in a fast paced production environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

You will be responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting machinery, producing components to specification and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities:

• Set up, operate and monitor laser cutting machines to meet production schedules
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
• Carry out machine adjustments and tooling changes where required
• Inspect finished components using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges

About you:

• Experience using a range of measuring equipment for quality drawings
• Experience using a range of measuring equipment for quality inspection
• A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing high quality work
• Experience with CNC laser cutting equipment, knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, FLT license or overhead crane experience or exposure to Lean Manufacturing would all be highly advantageous.
