Job summary

Workforce Group is seeking two experienced Laser Setter Operators in Nottingham to set, operate and monitor CNC laser cutting machinery, ensuring high-quality components in line with engineering drawings and production requirements.

You will read engineering drawings, perform dimensional checks with verniers and micrometers, and maintain safety and cleanliness in a modern manufacturing environment. Role offers overtime, long-term stability and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser cutting machinery.
• Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience using verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and monitor CNC laser cutting machinery.
• Complete machine set-ups, adjustments and tooling changes.
• Load and unload sheet metal safely.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Carry out quality checks using verniers and gauges.
• Make adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Identify and report machine, quality or production issues.
• Complete production paperwork and records accurately.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain housekeeping and a safe working environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures.
• Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines.
• Support other areas of production when required.
