Job description

Applicants are invited to apply for the position of LAS ST1-2 in Urology at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Urology Consultants and Specialty Doctors, providing day‑to‑day support and assisting in theatre.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To support the Foundation Year 1 doctors.
  • To be competent in history taking and examination.
  • To be able to manage the acutely ill patient.
  • To be able to receive ED & GP referrals and liaise with senior doctors regarding management of acutely ill patients.
  • To develop skills as a urological trainee in theatre and out‑patients using the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Project as a framework.
  • To develop in communication skills with colleagues, staff and patients as well as documentation.
  • To be able to work as a member of a team and with other teams in a multi‑disciplinary setting.
  • To be able to show professionalism during the delivery of the role that will support and enable good clinical care.
  • To develop competency in the area of decision making and prioritising one’s workload as well as demonstrating effective time management.
