Job summary

Emotive Landscapes is seeking a Landscaping Foreman to lead a small team on domestic projects across Gloucestershire. You will interpret designs, plan work flow with the MD and project coordinator, and ensure work is delivered safely to a high standard.

Strong people skills and a professional client-facing approach are essential. The role requires paving, decking, blockwork and brickwork expertise, plus the ability to motivate and schedule resources, manage budgets and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience/qualification in landscaping.
  • Good understanding of landscape construction.
  • Basic principles of horticulture.
  • Good knowledge of H&S requirements.
  • Awareness of project budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee key domestic landscaping projects.
  • Plan work flow and priorities with Managing Director and project coordinator.
  • Understand design drawings and lead setting out of sites and levels.
  • Plan, prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Problem solve and adapt to changes.
  • Ensure H&S guidelines and PPE are followed by the team.
  • Tickets/experience with plant machinery safety.
  • Lay paving, setts and stonework with accuracy.
  • Lay blockwork and brickwork.
  • Construct decking and fencing.
  • Shrub and tree planting; turfing and seeding.
  • Organise materials required to execute the jobs.

Emotive Landscapes is an award winning, small but fast-growing garden design and build company working throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties. We are looking for a superstar foreman to help continue to grow the size and reputation of company.

We design and build gardens that are uniquely tailored to each of our client’s specific needs, tastes and lifestyles. These gardens are built with the highest quality workmanship and finished to the best possible standard with the objective of providing our clients many years of enjoyment. Great customer service and communication are at the heart of everything we do and are key to providing our clients with a first-class landscaping experience, from initial enquiry through to completion of the finished garden and beyond.

Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the project co-ordinator, the Landscaping Foreman will ensure that Emotive Landscapes landscaping projects are delivered safely and to a high standard, whilst exceeding our client’s expectations.

The role will require a keen eye for detail and a high level of hard landscaping skills including paving, decking, blockwork and brickwork. You will be responsible for a small team of landscapers and must have great people skills and be able to organise and motivate your team whilst being the first point of contact for our clients and as such have a professional and approachable manner at all times.

Key Knowledge

  • Salary: £34,000 – £39,000
    (depending on experience)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Reports to: Managing Director
  • Works closely with: Project co-ordinator & office/operational manager
  • Location: Various project sites, mainly in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties but occasionally beyond
