Job summary

Sanctuary Group is hiring a Landscape Operative based in Glasgow to join our Grounds Maintenance team. You will work in a 5-person crew, with a van and tools provided, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Duties include landscaping, hedge trimming, mowing, litter picking, and applying treatments, with training offered for progression. The role requires prior grounds maintenance experience, a valid UK driving licence, and the ability to read and record tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or similar role using gardening machinery.
• Enthusiastic, well-organised team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read simple instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking grounds maintenance duties: weeding, hedges, lawn mowing, litter picking, pesticide treatments.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order and operate them safely.
• Provide accurate progress updates and complete daily work records.

Landscape Operative

Glasgow

£26,442 - £27,833 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Landscape Operative to join our Grounds Maintenance team based in Toryglen, Glasgow. You will be part of a 5-person team consisting of Landscapers and will include both team and lone working where you will be provided with a van and tools to get jobs done.

Daily tasks can include hard landscaping, weeding, trimming hedges/bushes, lawn mowing, litter picking and applying pesticide treatments at the different schemes. Training will be provided, and different opportunities are available to progress your career with Sanctuary.

The role of Landscape Operative will include:

• Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as weeding, trimming hedges/bushes, lawn mowing, litter picking and applying pesticide treatments
• Ensuring all tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all relevant hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of tasks, completing daily work records as appropriate
• Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments

Skills and experiences:

• Previous experience working in ground maintenance or a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
• An enthusiastic, well organised team player with good interpersonal skills
• Some experience interpreting written instructions and maintaining simple written records
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
