Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is seeking an Assistant Landscape Officer in Stevenage with a career-start salary and a hybrid working pattern. You will contribute to landscape design, visual impact assessments and placemaking within planning processes.

You will hold an undergraduate or master’s degree in a landscape-related field and bring a basic understanding of landscape planning legislation, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across authorities and

Qualifications

• Undergraduate and/or master’s degree in a Landscape, architectural or urban design related discipline.
• Basic understanding of Landscape Design and Landscape & Visual Impact Assessments.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide informed consultation on Landscape and Visual Impact of proposed development.
• Interpret and assess LVIA, Arboricultural Impact Reports, Landscape Masterplans and Planting Plans.
• Work as part of the LEADS team across Landscape, Ecology, Archaeology and Design Sustainability.
• Ensure Landscape Design and Visual Impact are key considerations in planning permission processes.
