We are seeking a Landfill Lead Operator for our Willesden Green landfill. This full-time role, working Monday to Friday, involves no camp or transportation provisions. The Lead Operator manages daily landfill operations, ensuring safety, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and physical and mental fitness. Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing day-to-day landfill operations and supervising operators
2. Ensuring safety procedures are followed, including SOPs, SWPs, hazard assessments, and data entry
3. Assigning roles and supervising shift activities
4. Overseeing scale operations and data accuracy
5. Maintaining landfill standards for waste receipt
6. Ensuring cleanliness and safety of the site
7. Providing ongoing training to staff
8. Understanding and complying with all regulatory documents
9. Managing sampling and testing protocols

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and successful pre-employment testing
• At least 5 years of landfill operator experience and 3 years in waste processing operations
• Completion of internal leadership courses
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and stamina for demanding environments
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and make sound decisions
• Proven independent work capability
• Customer service and safety focus
• Leadership in safety, operations, and regulatory compliance
• Ability to communicate clearly with management and team members
• Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements
