Description
Ideal Insight is looking for a Senior Filmmaker to join our fast-growing video production & photography agency.

We work with a variety of brands, from small businesses through to large global enterprises such as Amazon, Samsung, Vodafone and Citroen.
Working as a senior member of the film team you will be on the frontlines of our video projects; developing creative concepts, directing or filming on corporate and commercial shoots and be skilled in the use of a range of film cameras and equipment. The role will also involve fast-paced editing, as well as a keen creative eye for levelling up video creative outputs.
The primary objective for the role will be to service our client’s project requirements to an outstanding level, ensure the highest level of professionalism is undertaken on shoot and supporting the wider film team to level up creative outputs that will ensure our clients wish to work with us time and time again.

Key Responsibilities
  • On shoot your responsibilities can include the following roles:
  • DoP
  • Director
  • Creative Director
  • Supporting lighting set-up and audio recording as required
Before a shoot your responsibilities will include:
  • Ideating creative concepts
  • Storyboarding, including copy as required
  • Pre-production meetings with client and internal stakeholders (in-person and online)
  • Organising required internal video equipment, and hiring kit when required
Following a shoot your responsibilities will include:
  • Editing
  • Grading
  • Handling client change requests
Additionally:
  • Work closely with the junior producer and account managers to ensure client’s projects are executed within the timeline and to the best possible standard
  • Work closely with the Animation team on mixed media video projects
  • Notify account managers of any upsell opportunities in-project
  • Continuously look for operational improvements and raise these with line manager

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a professional filmmaker
  • Minimum of 2 years employment within a creative agency or film production company, preferred but not essential
  • Vast DoP experience and range of shoots executed
  • Capable leader on set
  • Strong proficiency in creative ideation, concept development and storyboarding
  • Strong proficiency with video editing and colour grading
  • Industry knowledge on latest trends, equipment, emerging markets and AI
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Confident in handling the responsibility of video project execution
  • Have a ‘can do’ mindset, bringing a positive attitude to all projects
  • Hybrid work – come to London office 2-3 times per week (unless on shoots)
  • Understand that shoots will occasionally taken place out of hour regular hours, including weekends
