Job summary

Vortec Marine Ltd in Gosport is seeking a Laminator for a short-term, on-site role focused on high-quality laminating for prestige sailing yachts, including hulls, decks, and structural components.

You will prepare molds, lay up materials, mix resins and ensure proper curing, while interpreting drawings and collaborating with engineers. You will also assist with repairs, refits and custom projects in the workshop and yard, maintaining tools and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with laminating on composite/fiberglass structures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

The Laminator will carry out day-to-day composite and fiberglass laminating work on prestige sailing yachts, including hulls, decks, and structural components. Responsibilities include preparing molds and surfaces, cutting and laying up materials, mixing and applying resins, and ensuring accurate curing and finishing to meet safety and quality standards. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, collaborating with engineers and boat builders, and assisting with repairs, refits, and custom projects in the workshop and yard. The Laminator will also maintain tools and equipment, follow health and safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of laminating processes.

This is a short term contract, on-site role based in Gosport.
