Job description

Have you got experience working as one to one?

Would you like to support children outside of mainstream settings?

This tutor role will be ideal if you are a newly qualified teacher, teaching assistant, or have any experience working with children with additional needs and are looking for flexible work.

This tutor role involves working with children who may have additional needs or are looked after. You will provide educational sessions face to face with children at their homes or in a local area (e.g., library). Skills and experience such as planning resources around the child’s needs, developing their knowledge in core subjects (Maths, English, and Science), and keeping the child engaged with tasks are essential in this role.

The location will vary depending on the needs of the pupil but will be pre-agreed prior to the commencement of the tuition.

What are we looking for in a tutor?

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Able to plan and deliver core and cross-curricular engaging sessions.
• Applying skills to help pupils get their education back up to speed.
• Managing and implementing different behaviour strategies.
• Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and providing feedback (this can be done via assessments).
• Desirable – SEN experience

To be successful in your application, you must provide evidence of your skills and experience.
