LAC Tutor Wanted – Sunderland | Support Vulnerable Young Learners
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and adaptable LAC Tutor to support Looked After Children (LAC) in the Sunderland area.
This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 tuition to children in care who may be outside mainstream education or require additional support to catch up. You will play a vital part in helping these young people achieve academic progress and rebuild their confidence in learning.
Deliver bespoke educational sessions (primarily in English and Maths)
Support learners aged 5–18, across KS1 to KS4 (age and level depending)
Sessions may take place in the home, school, or a neutral setting
Complete brief reports tracking student progress
Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk young people
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum (especially English and Maths)
A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or relevant tutoring experience
An enhanced DBS certificate (or willing to obtain one)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Flexible hours to fit around other commitments
Make a real impact in a young person’s life
Ongoing support from a dedicated coordination team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
