Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a reliable Driver / Labourer for a long-term ongoing contract on a social housing refurbishment project in and around Rushden. You will split time between general site duties and driving the company van to move materials, clear voids, and assist tradespeople across residential properties.

You must have a valid CSCS card, a full UK driving licence, be 25 or over, and be comfortable working around tenants.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS card required.
• Full UK Driving Licence (Clean or maximum of 3-6 points).
• Age 25 or over due to fleet vehicle insurance policies.
• Experience on construction sites or social housing maintenance desirable.
• Punctual, physically fit, reliable, and comfortable around tenants/public.

Responsibilities

• Driving company light commercial vehicles (van) to collect, drop off, and transport materials/tools between local sites and suppliers.
• Assisting tradespeople with general site clearance and prep work.
• Loading and unloading materials from vehicles.
• Ensuring all site safety and driving rules are strictly followed.

Driver / Labourer

Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire

Pay Rate: £16.03 per hour PAYE (rolled up holiday pay)

Position: Full-Time, Long-Term Ongoing

Hours: Monday - Friday 730am to 430pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting a reliable Driver / Labourer for a long-term ongoing contract working on a major social housing refurbishment project in and around Rushden.

In this role, you will split your time between general site duties and driving the company vehicle to move materials, clear clearance voids, and assist tradespeople across various residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving company light commercial vehicles (van) to collect, drop off, and transport materials/tools between local sites and suppliers.
• Assisting tradespeople (carpenters, plumbers, plasterers) with general site clearance and prep work.
• Loading and unloading materials from vehicles.
• Ensuring all site safety and driving rules are strictly followed.

Requirements & Criteria

• CSCS Card: Valid CSCS card required.
• Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (Clean or maximum of 3-6 points).
• Age Requirement: Must be 25 or over (strictly due to company fleet vehicle insurance policies).
• Experience: Previous experience working on construction sites or social housing maintenance is highly desirable.
• Traits: Punctual, physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working directly around tenants/public.
