Job summary

Randstad UK is recruiting a dependable general labourer for a short-term contract on a residential new build development in Skelmanthorpe (HD8 area). You will assist sub-contractors and site trades with moving materials, keep plots tidy, and help with unloading deliveries under the Site Manager's guidance.

The role requires a valid CSCS card, full PPE, reliable timekeeping, and a proactive attitude. Based in or commutable to the Huddersfield/Barnsley area, you should be eligible to work in the

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting a dependable general labourer for a short-term contract role on an active residential new build development in Skelmanthorpe (HD8 area).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing building materials across active plots.
• Sweeping out plots, clearing construction waste, and loading skips.
• Maintaining a tidy, safe, and organised site environment in line with site health and safety standards.
• Assisting site management with unloading deliveries and general compound upkeep.
• Carrying out general manual handling and physical labour duties as instructed by the Site Manager.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
• Previous experience working as a labourer on a construction site (New build housing experience preferred).
• Full 5-point PPE (Hard hat, high-vis vest/jacket, steel toe cap boots, safety glasses, gloves).
• Strong work ethic, reliable timekeeping, and a proactive attitude.
• Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and site plant.
• Based in or easily commutable to Skelmanthorpe (Huddersfield, Wakefield, Barnsley, or Kirklees area).
