Job summary

GAP Group Limited is hiring a Labourer for our Plant & Tool Division. You will keep the workshop and yard clean, fuel and prepare equipment for hire, and support the team in delivering excellent service to customers across construction sectors.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, basic workshop duties, and occasional forklift operation. A safety‑conscious, detail‑oriented team player with a valid licence and CSCS is preferred.

Qualifications

• CSCS card required or advantageous
• Forklift licence advantageous
• Driving licence advantageous
• Strong teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced yard environment
• Commitment to safety standards and care with equipment

Responsibilities

• Keep workshop and yard clean, tidy and hazard-free
• Clean plant equipment and store it orderly
• Refuel plant and machinery and update fuel logs
• Quality-check equipment to ensure hire-ready condition
• Assist with general workshop duties as required
• Carry out driving duties (licence necessary) and help loading/unloading
• Operate forklift when required

You'll maintain a clean and hazard‑free workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard‑free
• Cleaning plant equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Refuelling plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs
• Quality‑checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire‑ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Carrying out driving duties (subject to licence) and assisting Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles
• Operating forklift when necessary

About You

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous
