Job summary

Irwell Valley Homes in Manchester seeks a professional Labourer to provide a reliable labouring service within customer homes and vacant properties. You will assist decorators and trades on repairs, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures across sites.

The role requires experience in general labouring, repair work, and solid building knowledge, plus a driving license. This permanent, full-time post offers stability within a not-for-profit housing association.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking general labouring duties (roofing/ground working) or working in a similar role.
• Experience carrying out and supporting repair-work including multi-trade tasks, both internally and externally within customers' homes.
• Sound building and construction knowledge.
• General building maintenance repair knowledge.
• Competent in using mobile applications and technology including PDAs.
• A full valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Support decorators in carrying out painting and decorating work within the customer homes & vacant properties.
• Aid all trades team with a range of property repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure customer's homes are left clean, secure, safe and disposing of waste in line with company procedures.
• Report any potential repairs and safeguarding issues that you notice in the customers' homes.
• Updating PDA systems.
• Orders parts, materials or follow-on work as required.
