Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property in Hemel Hempstead seeks a General Site Labourer to support daily site operations, maintain clean and safe welfare areas, and assist trades across the site. A valid CSCS card and full PPE are required, with experience on busy UK sites and a strong work ethic.

The role is 45 hours per week at a pay rate of £17.43 per hour, on a 12-month ongoing contract. Right to work in the UK is mandatory.

Qualifications

• CSCS card valid (Green Labourer card or higher).
• Full standard PPE required (Hard hat, Hi-vis vest/jacket, Steel-toe boots).
• Experience on busy UK construction sites.
• Reliable, punctual, physically fit for manual lifting with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Site Maintenance: Keep welfare areas, access routes, and plots clean, tidy, and safe by clearing rubbish, sweeping up, and managing skips.
• Material Handling: Safely unload deliveries and distribute heavy building materials to designated plots and work areas.
• Trade Support: Provide hands-on assistance to bricklayers, carpenters, dryliners, and other trades on site.
• Site Security & Setup: Help move temporary fencing, ensure perimeter security, and lock down materials at end of shift.
• Health & Safety: Follow site rules, maintain walkways, and report hazards to the Site Manager.

Job Vacancy: General Site Labourer

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Material Handling: Safely unload supplier deliveries and distribute heavy building materials to designated plots and work areas.

Trade Support: Provide hands-on assistance to bricklayers, carpenters, dryliners, and other trades across site.

Site Security & Setup: Assist with moving temporary fencing, perimeter security, and locking down materials/plots at the end of the shift.

Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to site rules, maintain walkways, and immediately report hazards to the Site Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications:

CSCS Card: Valid CSCS card is essential (Green Labourer card or higher).

PPE: Full standard PPE required (Hard hat, Hi-vis vest/jacket, Steel-toe safety boots).

Experience: Proven experience working on busy UK construction sites.

Attributes: Reliable, punctual, physically fit for manual lifting, and holds a strong work ethic.

Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK is mandatory.
