Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated midwife to join the Delivery Suite Core Team. You will provide care to low and high risk women with at least 3 years of experience, demonstrating leadership and involvement in development of Women Centred Midwifery Practice.

You will manage clinical areas, contribute to learning, and participate in on-call duties as senior on call for maternity, while maintaining up-to-date clinical competencies.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife on the NMC register
• Evidence of management responsibility
• Portfolio of evidence of recent professional development

Responsibilities

• Support clinical midwifery management by taking responsibility for the clinical area including labour ward, obstetric theatre, postnatal/antenatal ward and triage areas
• Liaise regularly to assess workload and staff deployment
• Role model for clinical excellence and maintain high clinical competencies
• Teach clinical skills to junior staff and participate in audits of learning areas
• Undertake line management and operational duties including on-call responsibilities as senior manager on call for maternity
