Overview
Biocatalysts is comprised of 4 companies, headquartered in Cardiff (Wales, UK) and co-located in Nieuwkuijk (Netherlands), Tampa (Florida, USA) and Ascheberg (Germany). Brought together as an integrated Bioproducts Division in October 2023, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of BRAIN Biotech Group, based in Zwingenberg (Germany). We serve customers globally in markets such as food, baking, beverage and pharma / life science, with a view to become and stay the worlds leading speciality enzyme company and by the quality and dedication of our people, exceed our customers expectations.
Responsibilities
- To perform enzyme assays following Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) to ensure quality of our raw material, in-process materials and finished enzyme products.
- To complete and check all relevant QC certifications.
- To maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as per quality management system requirements.
Requirements
- Completion of enzyme assays (titration, UV spectrophotometer) as per QC schedule.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for assays.
- Produce reliable, accurate assay data and record assay results in the QC database.
- Managing the external testing to ensure samples are sent as per schedule and results are collected to meet on-time product dispatch.
- Generate Certificate of Analysis (CoA).
- Raise out of specification (OOS).
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of equipment is carried out to agreed schedules and no equipment is out of calibration.
- Conduct weekly laboratory audits.
- Manage retained samples as per QC policy.
- Quality check formulations created by the production team.
- Follow Health & Safety policy and good laboratory practice (GLP).
- Participate in continuous performance improvement.
- Be conversant with and adopt the procedures stated in the Quality & Environmental Management System and its supporting documents.
