Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Deeside Environmental laboratory. You will join a small team in the Dioxins and Furans lab to prepare and analyse routine and non-routine samples using a variety of techniques, following established procedures.

You will support sample preparation, calibration, quality control and reporting, while upholding health, safety and quality standards and ensuring timely, accurate data delivery to clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or a related subject preferred.
• A level Chemistry or related science/maths qualification.
• Equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare stack, soil, ash and water samples for analysis of Dioxins, Furans, PCBs and PAHs.
• Prepare send out packages for shipment to clients.
• Prepare standards for spikes, calibration and quality control.
• Conduct analysis and report results per methods and procedures.
• Maintain good laboratory practice and housekeeping at all times.
• Calibrate instruments, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot.
