Job summary

Element Materials Technology Ltd. Deeside Environmental laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a small Dioxins and Furans team. You will prepare and analyse routine and non-routine samples, ensure GMP, and support method development from samples to data delivery.

Qualifications

• A degree in Chemistry or a related subject is preferred.
• A Chemistry A-level or equivalent science/maths qualification.
• Alternative qualifications considered with relevant experience.
• Experience in an ISO 17025 commercial analytical lab is advantageous.
• Motivated, organized, with attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare stack, soil, ash and water samples for analysis of Dioxins, Furans, PCBs and PAHs.
• Prepare send-out packages to be shipped to clients.
• Prepare standards for spikes, calibration and quality control.
• Conduct analysis and report results to company methods.
• Ensure compliance with good laboratory practice and housekeeping.
• Calibrate instruments, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot.
• Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders for consumables.
• Develop and document methods with senior analysts.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures at all times.
