Job summary

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Tilbury site in Essex. You will ensure products meet specifications from intake to delivery and perform quality assurance checks per company procedures.

You will run tests on wheat and flour products, interpret results against customer specs, manage samples for Central Technical Function, and participate in hygiene, safety and quality audits across departments.

Qualifications

• A levels or 5 GCSE including Maths.
• Basic Food safety awareness.
• HACCP trained preferable.
• Experience in laboratory operations desirable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Work within Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines.
• Monitor product quality from intake to customer delivery.
• Test wheat, flour and related products for Tilbury.
• Relate customer and flour specifications to results in the system.
• Ensure Central Technical Function receives required samples.
• Carry out hygiene, food safety and quality audits.
• Collaborate with on-site departments.
• Enter data into LIMS accurately and efficiently.
• Assist Compliance Manager with customer and external audits.
• Investigate customer complaints using Achiever system.
• Create and issue certificates for customers.
• Collect samples for routine and non-routine analysis.
• Perform problem solving and equipment maintenance.
• Deputise for Compliance Manager when required.
• Provide out of hours site support via call-out rota.

Your Role

An opportunity has arisen for an Laboratory Technician based in Tilbury, Essex. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that all product meets specification from intake through to customer delivery and to carry out quality assurance checks as per company procedures.

Your Responsibilities

• Work within the companies Safety and Health and environmental guidelines
• Monitor product quality to ensure it meets required parameters from intake through to customer delivery
• Testing wheat, flour and their associated products for Tilbury
• Understanding customer and flour specifications and relating these to results entered into the system
• Ensure Central Technical Function receive samples required
• Carry out hygiene, food safety & quality audits as required
• Work closely with other departments on site
• Ensure all data is entered onto LIMS efficiently & accurately
• Assist Compliance Manager in customer & external audits
• Monitor & investigate customer complaints using Achiever system.
• Create & issue certificates for customers
• Collecting samples for routine and non-routine analysis
• Carry out problem solving and equipment maintenance
• Deputising for the Compliance Manager whenever required
• Provide out of hours assistance to site via call out rota.

Your Profile
