Job description

Job Title: Chemistry Technician

We are seeking a well-organised individual with the ability to work effectively as part of a team to play a key role in the Chemistry Department.

Qualifications: Previous laboratory experience is not essential, but you will need a GCSE in Chemistry/Science (Double Award), Maths, and English Language (or equivalent).

Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to the efficient and safe running of the department.
2. Assist the Senior Technician in preparing practical experiments for pupils during lessons.
3. Support teachers by preparing demonstrations and practical opportunities for pupils.
4. Prepare chemicals/solutions, assemble, clear away, clean, and store apparatus.
5. Maintain a tidy laboratory environment and dispose of waste chemicals safely.
6. Order new equipment and chemicals as needed.
7. Prioritise and manage changing workloads flexibly.
