Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician at Eurofins Genomics Europe, DTC & Population Genetics, Products & Services Limited, the purpose of this role will be to perform analytical laboratory work.

Please note this is a full-time permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, between 07:00 and 23:00.

1. Handling and recording of accurate analytical source data, including insertion of these in Eurofins systems (Worksheets, LIMS and QMS).
2. Preparation of SOPs for analytical work regarding the laboratory technician’s protocols and instrument responsibilities.
3. Ensure personal User Training Log is up to date and properly documented.
4. Contribute to the preparation of safety procedures.
5. Perform sample reception, quality control, normalization of samples, PCR preparations, procedures for analysis on the instrument, and Micro Array procedures.
6. Sample shipment.
7. Control pipettes once a year and maintain pipettes in the laboratory areas.
8. Maintain the laboratory environment.
9. Report any problems in the laboratory to the Team Leader.
10. Perform monthly stock inventory.
11. Ensure analysis is performed at a high quality level and deliver reliable results within deadlines.
12. Ensure analysis complies with company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Prior laboratory experience is essential.
• BSc degree in a related scientific field is desirable.
• Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
• High sense of quality, flexibility, team spirit, ability to work independently, and reliability.
• Flexibility and willingness for shift work.
• Excellent IT knowledge and experience.
