Job summary

Avacone is seeking an experienced Laboratory Systems Solutions and Support Engineer to support pharmaceutical laboratory instruments, connectivity, and data integration. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot integrations between instruments and LIMS/ELN/SDMS, ensuring compliant operations.

The role involves diverse instrumentation (HPLC/UPLC, GC, LC-MS/MS, spectroscopy) and requires collaboration with QC, IT, QA, and vendor teams to maintain reliable, secure lab data flows and lifecycle

Qualifications

• Experience supporting laboratory instruments and computerized laboratory systems in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting across instrument hardware connectivity, acquisition software, networks, and interfaces.
• Experience integrating laboratory instruments with LIMS, ELN, SDMS, or comparable laboratory platforms.
• Understanding of serial and network communication, vendor drivers, middleware, APIs, file transfers, and database interfaces.
• Experience with chromatography, mass spectrometry, or other analytical systems.
• Knowledge of GxP, validation, electronic records, data integrity.
• Ability to translate laboratory requirements into technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with lab, technical, quality, vendor teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide Laboratory Instrumentation lifecycle and support for onboarding, configuration, qualification, upgrades, relocations, and decommissioning.
• Design end-to-end connectivity architectures linking instruments, workstations, middleware, and enterprise systems.
• Implement and troubleshoot connectivity using RS-232/RS-485, USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, APIs, SDKs, and integration tools.
• Collaborate with application teams to implement interfaces with LIMS, ELN, and SDMS; troubleshoot data flows.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and participate in incident, problem, and change management.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11, and data integrity principles.
