Job summary

avacone Switzerland is seeking an experienced Laboratory Systems Solutions and Support Engineer to support pharmaceutical instruments, connectivity, data integration, and related laboratory applications in the United Kingdom.

The role requires hands-on technical support combined with design, implementation, and troubleshooting of integrations between laboratory equipment and systems such as LIMS, ELN, and SDMS.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pharmaceutical laboratory instruments and computerized systems in regulated environments.
• Strong troubleshooting across instrument hardware, software, networks, and interfaces.
• Experience integrating instruments with LIMS, ELN, SDMS or similar platforms.
• Understanding of serial and network communications, drivers, middleware, APIs, and file transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provide second/third-line support for laboratory instruments, software, and connected applications.
• Investigate incidents involving instrument communication, data transfers, and interface issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Support laboratory users during critical testing and incidents.
• Coordinate with instrument manufacturers, vendors, and internal teams on complex issues.
• Maintain documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures.
