Job summary

Beebe Healthcare in a coastal community seeks a phlebotomy technician to support laboratory operations. You will verify identifiers and orders, prioritize STAT testing, and prepare specimens for testing or shipment under SOPs.

The role requires a HS Diploma with Phlebotomy certification or 1–2 years’ accessioning experience, strong telephone skills, and knowledge of test terminology. You will train staff and clinicians on proper collection and transport procedures, while upholding safety

Qualifications

HS Diploma required.
Certification in Phlebotomy or 1–2 years’ experience in accessioning/preparing specimens.
Knowledge of laboratory terminology and specimen collection procedures.

Responsibilities

Verify identifers, specimen collection requirements, test orders, and containers.
Prioritize STAT and routine tests.
Validate and enter requisition information for specimens from external providers.
Prepare specimens for testing or shipment per SOPs.
Troubleshoot specimen collection quality or transport issues.
Follow biohazard safety procedures including pneumatic tube usage.
Serve as resource and trainer for clinicians and staff on specimen collection and transport.
