Job Description:

This Technician role is part of the Process & Development Engineering team in Wrexham. The role involves testing materials and complete cables using laboratory equipment, and reporting results.

• Manage Lab calibration and schedules.
• Conduct Accelerated Long Duration Water Ageing Tests, including sample preparation, testing, and reporting.
• Support testing of new materials and products.
• Perform quality tests on samples, including resistance, volume resistivity, and dimensions.
• Learn and assist with the operation of electrical test equipment and HV tests.
• Interpret international testing standards and record results accurately.
• Prepare samples for external testing and manage testing reports.
• Ensure laboratory safety procedures are followed.
• Support customer complaint investigations.

Required Skills:

• Degree or HNC in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in materials and electrical testing preferred.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and MS Access.
• Self-motivated, organized, and safety-conscious.
