Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the smooth operation of our laboratories. You will handle essential logistical, maintenance and support duties to enable cutting-edge research, with a focus on cleanliness, safety and efficient workflows.

The role requires a BSc in a related field, strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with researchers and technicians in a fast-paced environment at our Oxford site.

Qualifications

• BSc qualification in a related field is required.
• Experience in laboratory maintenance and familiarity with basic techniques and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on organisation and cleanliness.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• General laboratory maintenance with guidance from Scientific Operations Manager and existing technicians.
• Keep the laboratory clean and organised, including waste streams management.
• Ensure that all equipment is received, logged, stored, calibrated, and maintained; assist with setup and basic troubleshooting.
• Act as point of contact for maintenance and servicing from external stakeholders; uphold laboratory code of conduct.
• Disinfect and sterilise laboratory tools, consumables, and areas according to protocols; manage waste disposal.
