Job summary

SF Partners in Glasgow is seeking a Facilities Support Assistant to join a busy laboratory environment. You will ensure scientists have the equipment, stock and day-to-day facilities support they need to carry out their work.

This hands-on role involves checking stock levels, ordering consumables, cleaning and maintaining equipment, monitoring fridge and freezer temperatures and managing laboratory waste. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Hands-on facilities or laboratory support experience preferred.
• Experience managing stock, equipment, and Health & Safety procedures is beneficial.
• Ability to follow safety rules and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Check stock levels and order chemicals, solvents, consumables.
• Receive and manage deliveries across the site.
• Clean, maintain and check scientific equipment.
• Monitor fridge/freezer temperatures; maintain records.
• Manage laboratory waste and recycling streams.
• Restock safety equipment and gas cylinders.
• Support COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.
• Keep PAT testing and facilities records up to date.
• Help keep labs clean, organised, and ready for use.
