Job summary

Caresoft Global Ltd seeks a Laboratory Assistant for Reading on a 36-hour week contract. The role offers a rate of £17.59ph Umbrella (Inside IR35) with a 9am-5pm schedule. Two positions are available, with initial contract through 28/02/2027.

Responsibilities include sample prep, data handling, use of LIMS/Q-Pulse, and adherence to SOPs, with potential work across multiple laboratories as demand requires.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A / HNC level in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Eligible to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not provided).

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
  • Perform a range of basic routine tasks and sample preparation under supervision of a senior member of staff.
  • Operate basic lab equipment as directed.
  • Prepare for laboratory tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures and methods.
  • Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
  • Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
  • Analyse, interpret and evaluate data and identify results requiring further investigation seeking advice of senior colleagues as appropriate.
  • Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system, Q-Pulse, etc.
  • Provide training in routine activities.
  • Perform Lab admin and housekeeping duties as directed.
  • Will be expected to work in different laboratories if the demand is required.

  5. To understand and work to the requirements of UKAS.
  6. Ensure training records are accurate.
Qualifications:
  1. Educated to A / HNC level in a relevant scientific discipline INSIDE IR35.
