Job summary

A global testing organization located near Cambridge is seeking an Organic Analyst to join their expanding labs. This permanent position involves routine and non-routine analysis, ensuring strict adherence to procedural and ISO standards. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Chemistry and experience with analytical instrumentation.

Location: Newmarket

Salary: starting from £24000

Type: Permanent

Hours: Days, Monday - Friday

Our Client, a global testing organisation based on the outskirts of Cambridge, is expanding their labs and looking to recruit experienced Organic Analysts who will play a key role in their growth plans.

Role
  1. Perform routine & non-routine analysis (GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, or ICP) of samples following documented procedures.
  2. Troubleshoot GC/HPLC or ICP instrumentation (column changes, etc.).
  3. Assist in generating accurate and timely sample and QC data in line with client expectations and QMS.
  4. Maintain ISO 17025 accreditation by adhering to strict testing guidelines.
  5. Meet deadlines with a good understanding of workload prioritisation and commercial awareness.
  6. Assist in maintenance programmes for analytical instrumentation and other equipment used by the department.
  7. Ensure instruments are kept clean, in good condition, and maintenance procedures are up to date.
  8. Manage stocks of reagents and standards, ensuring proper storage and labelling.
  9. Consult with the Divisional Manager if turnaround deadlines are at risk.
Person
  1. Hold a degree in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally Chemistry.
  2. Have some exposure to HPLC, GC/MS, or HPLC during your degree.
  3. Possess strong interpersonal skills and be IT literate.
