Laboratory Analyst, Chemistry Graduate

Location: Newmarket

Salary: Starting from £24,000

Type: Permanent

Hours: Days, Monday - Friday

Our client, a global testing organisation based on the outskirts of Cambridge, is expanding their labs and looking to recruit experienced Organic Analysts to play a key role in their growth plans.

Role:
  1. Perform routine and non-routine analysis (GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, or ICP) of samples according to documented procedures.
  2. Troubleshoot GC/HPLC or ICP instrumentation (column changes, etc.).
  3. Assist in generating accurate and timely sample and QC data in line with client expectations and QMS.
  4. Maintain ISO 17025 accreditation by following strict testing guidelines.
  5. Meet deadlines with a commercial awareness of workload and prioritisation.
  6. Assist in maintenance programmes for analytical instrumentation and other equipment used by the department.
  7. Ensure instruments are kept clean, serviced, and maintained according to procedures.
  8. Manage storage and labelling of reagents and standards.
  9. Consult with the Divisional Manager when turnaround deadlines cannot be met.
Person:
  1. Hold a degree in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally Chemistry.
  2. Some exposure to HPLC, GC/MS, or HPLC during your degree.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills and IT literacy.
