Job summary

The Francis Crick Institute is seeking a Laboratory Operations Assistant to join the Service Delivery Team. The role focuses on operational support for laboratories, waste management, stock control and routine facility maintenance.

Reporting to the Quadrant Manager, it is a full-time permanent post on Crick terms and conditions. Hours are Mon–Thu 8:00–16:15 and Fri 8:00–16:00, with a closing date 13 Sept 2026.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths, Science and English are required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to follow work instructions and record information accurately.
• Strong teamwork and good communication with diverse colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Safe management and disposal of laboratory waste.
• Stock management of laboratory consumables and restocking stores.
• Regular cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• General laboratory support activities to assist researchers.
• Collaborate with researchers and service partners to resolve issues.
• Support with porterage and daily logistics around large facility.
