Job summary

Substrate Bio Ltd in London is seeking an on-site Lab Operations Lead to run day-to-day lab activities, manage consumables, stock, and cold-chain processes.

You will define what the lab captures, work with science and software teams to implement a barcode-based system, and ensure continuity of supply for scientists.

You will report to the operations lead and collaborate with facilities, health and safety, and purchasing teams; UK benefits include generous leave and health cover.

Qualifications

• Two+ years running a lab or comparable physical operation.
• Practical stock control including goods in and reorders.
• Buying from suppliers and managing lead times.
• Hands-on with barcoded stock systems.
• Lab environment experience with cold storage and safety records.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of goods in/out and stock accuracy.
• Map materials flow and build barcode-driven inventory.
• Implement a working inventory and reorder system.
• Collaborate with software and labs teams to capture required data.
