Job summary

Wise is looking for a Data Science Lead to steer and expand the Verification Data Science team within KYC Global and Onboarding in London. You will own the data science roadmap, drive model lifecycle from training to production, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, scalable solutions that improve customer onboarding and risk mitigation.

You will lead and mentor data scientists, improve document verification models and models for KYC, and continuously advance our ML systems

Qualifications

• Experience leading data science teams in financial services or KYC domains.
• Experience building ML systems for document verification and related feedback loops.
• Ability to own a data science roadmap and drive cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Own the data science roadmap and prioritise projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams, aligning with customer needs and business goals.
• Iterate on deep learning image models and measure performance of ML systems.
• Maintain a large Python codebase with industry-standard best practices.
• Manage and develop data scientists through coaching, regular feedback and career support, including hiring as the team grows.
