Wise is hiring a Senior II/Lead Software Engineer to shape the Global KYC and Onboarding platform. You’ll own backend systems, scale verification workflows, and mentored engineers across cross‑functional teams.

You'll lead architecture for a configuration‑driven verification platform, collaborate with product and design, and drive reliability, security, and compliance in a fast‑moving fintech environment. Join us to enable safe, fast onboarding worldwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java 8+ knowledge and Spring experience.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong system design skills for distributed, high-throughput services.
• Proven track record in leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Security and data protection principles knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with financial or KYC verification systems is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and maintain high-performance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.
• Lead initiatives to improve verification systems focusing on automation, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Drive architectural decisions and strategy for verification systems.
• Build internal tools for verification agents.
• Share knowledge and best practices to contribute to engineering culture.
