Job summary

Wave Photonics in Cambridge is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to build a reliable, cloud-backed HPC platform for heavy design and simulation workloads. You will manage Kubernetes across on‑prem and cloud, with security and RBAC baked in, and create self‑service capabilities for the team.

You will own observability, data storage and backups, and push automation to reduce repetitive tasks. A flexible, hands‑on role with broad autonomy in a rapidly evolving photonics environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience running Kubernetes in production, including bare metal setups.
• Linux system administration experience for bare metal boxes.
• Ability to architect robust, scalable cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Terraform experience for IaC.

Responsibilities

• Manage the compute platform with Kubernetes across on‑prem and cloud.
• Develop observability and alerting to preempt issues.
• Ensure data infrastructure and security across cloud and on‑prem.
• Own security: RBAC, secrets, policies, zero trust networking.
