Job summary

GSK is seeking a Compute Platform Engineer II to join our team building a first‑in‑class platform for data, analytics, and AI/ML workloads. You will help design, implement, and operate toolchains and workflows that accelerate development and scale HPC and cloud-enabled experiments.

You will guide best practices in software development, testing, and observability while collaborating with scientists and engineers to optimize performance on large distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Cloud.
• Experience with High Performance Compute (HPC).

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and operates tools, services, workflows delivering value for business problems.
• Develops a hybrid on-prem/cloud compute platform for interactive and scalable batch computing.
• Manages CI/CD driven deployments and container/image builds.
• Consults science users on scalability for PB-scale data, understanding software engineering and hardware impact.
• Produces robust software with automated tests, documentation, and operational strategy.
• Ensures logging and data lineage are consistent across platform abstractions.
