Job summary

The University of Sheffield, in association with Anglian Water Services Ltd., is recruiting a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate to develop and validate a decision-support system for forecasting water availability and nitrate pollution up to 3 months ahead.

You will lead development, evaluate performance, and oversee deployment for operational and investment decisions across sites, including Huntingdon, Peterborough, and Sheffield.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical modelling and programming background.
• Experience with hydrodynamic and water quality modelling preferred.
• Familiarity with seasonal forecasting and optimization under uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development of the decision-support system for nitrate forecasting.
• Demonstrate deployment for operational and investment decisions.
• Develop deployment protocols and documentation for embedding the system.
• Communicate with Anglian Water and academic staff on implications.
• Disseminate outputs via publications and external events.
• Lead project meetings and plan workload to hit milestones.
• Engage with residential training courses and knowledge transfer activities.
• Work across multiple sites including Anglian Water and Sheffield.
