We are in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths and English Tutor to join our team and empower students who are currently out of traditional educational settings.
The Opportunity
This Maths and English Tutor role is perfect for someone looking to step away from the classroom and make a difference to the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. The successful tutor must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 pupil’s education and boost engagement and attainment levels.
At Prospero Teaching it is our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We are looking for Maths and English Tutors who are eager to work with children and young people with a variety of learning needs with a creative, flexible and holistic approach to raise attainment and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey. Tutors also need to build confidence and proficiency in the core subjects through targeted practice and encouragement.
Contract/Position Details:
* Location – Within the community or pupil’s home in Hull
* Position – Maths & English Tutor
* Type of work – Contract
* Start date – After Easter Break ( tentatively starting around 12/04/2024)
* Contract type – Temporary
* Minimum rate of pay – £25+ per hour *Negotiable*
* Hours – Working hours can differentiate, depending on the convenient timings of the family or young person
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the Maths and English Tutor:
* Experience working with KS3 & KS4 students in UK mainstream education (Required)
* Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box (Required)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport (Required)
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (Desired)
* Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils (Desired)
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 Tutor must:
* Hold the right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide minimum two professional references for the past 2 years of employment
